The Citizens Advice Energy Saving project is making a real impact saving Broxtowe residents money on the gas and electric bills. In a little over one month the project has benefited consumers to the tune of £4,881. The amount is mainly due to money saved by switching suppliers. Many vulnerable energy consumers pay the most for gas and electric tariffs. This is what Citizens Advice call the ‘loyalty penalty’ when providers shift customers onto a standard tariff at the end of their fixed term contracts.
Other savings have been made when consumers have qualified for the Warm Home Discount Scheme for those on low income or on qualifying benefits.
