Research and Campaigns

Home » Research and Campaigns

Research and campaigns remains a core part of the work of Citizens Advice, delivered by our dedicated staff and committed volunteers. This work helps ensure we can resolve more issues for clients, and address the underlying causes so that the issues do not continue to affect clients.

Our organisation participates in nationally led research and campaigns but also carries out local research. If you would like to become involved please contact our Development Manager, details below.

Examples of our successful work include influencing the Government to make changes to the way Universal Credit is administered and providing evidence to the Financial Conduct Authority that resulted in tough new rules on payday lenders. For more examples of national campaigns click on the link below:

Locally we have completed a number of reports that address pressing issues for our clients in Broxtowe and Nottinghamshire. Below are some key local reports:

The Citizens Panel

We also work with our volunteers and clients to make sure we are best able to help all our clients, including the most vulnerable clients. To understand the challenges people face we have set up a Citizens Panel that meet quarterly to help keep our services relevant to those who need help the most and design new fundable projects. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Citizens Panel then contact our Development Manager, Neil Clurow for more information:
