Citizens Advice have introduced significant new content to its scams information. In partnership with Martin Lewis and Facebook our national organisation has set up the Citizens Advice Scams Action that includes one-to-one advice and scams awareness raising work. Additionally Facebook have agreed to create a scam ads reporting tool.
Other Organisations and Campaigns.
You can also report scams to other organisations. This increases the chance of scammers being caught and stopped.
You should report all types of scams to Action Fraud, the UK’s national reporting centre for fraud.
Action Fraud can get the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau to investigate scams. They’ll also give you a crime reference number, which can be helpful if you need to tell your bank you’ve been scammed.
There is also a national campaign, Take 5 to stop fraud campaign. The campaign website includes advice and a useful toolkit campaign materials, videos and press releases.
