Financial Resilience Worker Vacancy

£23,625 per annum pro rata      Fixed term until March 2025 (continuation subject to funding)                                    15 hours per week                   

We are looking to recruit a Financial Resilience Adviser who will work alongside our generalist and money advice teams to provide advice and assistance to clients with a view to maximising their income, understanding their expenditure and accessing support with debt. You will provide full advice on all of the advice enquiry areas with a focus on income maximisation and financial resilience. You will help people to build assets for the future and access training and employment opportunities.

You will assist clients to act upon advice given to achieve positive outcomes. This will include supporting them with digital forms/applications. This role will involve benefit and budgeting advice, assisting clients to access their correct benefit entitlement.     

The role will also involve work with a range of stakeholders to achieve the outcomes of the project and improve financial resilience for households.

If you wish to be considered for this innovative exciting opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills-

  • Strong IT skills and experience of online applications
  • Ideally you will have experience of  all areas of advice work including knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and housing.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding and commitment of the aims, policies and principles of Citizens Advice.
  • Ability to work to set quality standards.
  • Track record of successfully working with partners to achieve client outcomes.

Early Intervention Advice Worker Vacancy

£23,625 per annum pro rata)                                   1 year fixed term (continuation subject to funding)            

15 hours per week                                                                               Based at our Eastwood office

Citizens Advice Broxtowe are working in partnership with 5 other Citizens Advice services across Nottinghamshire to deliver this early intervention project recognising that there are certain clients who might meet challenges when acting upon advice. It aims to address this by providing targeted support in the form of proactive advice and building mental resilience. The project aims to empower clients with the skills to move on independently.

You will provide holistic general advice casework to achieve positive outcomes for our clients working with partners such as Broxtowe Borough Council, Nottinghamshire Mind, Broxtowe Womens’ Project and health professionals.

Mediation Coordinator Vacancy

22.5 hours per week              Salary: £23,700 per annum pro rata       Permanent role

We are working in partnership with Broxtowe Youth Homelessness and Broxtowe Borough Council to provide a service to help any age group that needs mediation to help them solve a dispute.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mediation Coordinator to help us run this service to high quality standards.

The Mediation Coordinator will be required to assist the Chief Executive and Development Manager to ensure this service is successful by recruiting and training volunteers to expand the service as demand grows. The successful candidate will need to have the following skills:

  • A recognised qualification in mediation (or willingness to obtain this)
  • Experience of recruiting and training volunteers or staff
  • Successfully achieving quality standards
  • Experience in using various IT platforms including databases
  • Ability to produce progress reports
  • Experience in working with partners and stakeholders to achieve common aims and promote the service

Energy Adviser Vacancy

Working across our offices in Eastwood and Beeston, although most of the work will be telephone advice. Office base negotiable

Fixed Term Contract – October 2023 until 31 March 2024 – Continuation possible if funding available

21 hours per week                                                £22,000 per annum pro rata

We have short term funding from Citizens Advice under the Energy Advice Programme. Energy advice includes advice on fuel options, tariffs, energy grants, as well energy efficiency advice which should be given to every client.  The aim is to assist the client to reduce their energy expenditure. 

  • You will have a target to advise on Energy issues. This is a paid for by results funding pot so the ability to meet targets is key.
  • You will need to feel comfortable conducting face to face interviews and carrying out telephone advice.
  • You will need to be a team player who can work within our existing adviser teams and our wider partners, Broxtowe Council and Nottingham Energy Partnership.
  • You will need to be able to record client data and keep accurate records of client statistics, case studies and outcomes.
  • Ideally a trained adviser with previous Citizens Advice experience.
  • The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced management and supervision team.
