Early Intervention Advice Worker Vacancy (x5)

Salary; £9,750 actual (£19,500 pro rata). Fixed term until 30 June 2024. 18.5 hours per week. The specific terms and conditions will be those of the employing local Citizens Advice service.

5 vacancies of 18.5 hrs each across 5 districts

Bassetlaw (based in Worksop), Mansfield (based in Mansfield), Sherwood & Newark (based either Ollerton or Newark), Nottingham and District (based in Nottingham) and    Ashfield (Ashfield). We would be willing to discuss a full time post based across more than one district.

Citizens Advice Nottinghamshire has received funding to expand a successful project that supports some of our most vulnerable clients who often need help and advice when they reach a crisis point. We are testing a programme that includes proactive interventions in a partnership between Citizens Advice Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire Mind and other local partners.

If you wish to be considered for this innovative exciting opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills-

  • Ideally you will have experience of community advice work.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and housing.
  • A flexible attitude to work.
  • Understanding and commitment of the aims, policies and principles of Citizens Advice including its equality policies.
  • Ability to work to set quality standards.
  • Track record of successfully working with partners to progress the project and client outcomes.

BEST PRACTICE LEAD VACANCY

£26,000 per annum pro rata

Fixed term until March 2022   

30 hours per week  – Secondment considered

Citizens Advice is in the third year delivering the Help to Claim service. Helping people make a claim for Universal credit and supporting them with issues relating to their claim up to their first correct payment. As part of this, the organisation set up a network of 31 Best Practice Leads to gather and share learning about how Universal Credit and the Help to Claim service is performing, develop relationships with relevant stakeholders and share ideas and best practice. 

The role will work across a Jobcentre Plus district (Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland) to improve people’s experience of Universal Credit as well as feeding into national Help to Claim workstreams, to improve the Help to Claim service, and the national Policy team to support influencing around Universal Credit. Due to current circumstances, all external  meetings are currently held via Google Meet and the location at which the role will be based to be discussed at the interview.

If you wish to be considered for this innovative exciting opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills-

  • Proven ability to analyse complex information and make decisions/formulate recommendations quickly, communicating information clearly and accessibly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deliver presentations and build relationships with staff at all levels
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate with senior managers, executives and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to plan and work effectively under pressure to deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to work occasional unsocial hours and potentially undertake some travel throughout the UK.
  •  IT proficiency including competent use of Google Workspace
