PAID VACANCY Early Intervention Advice Worker Vacancy

£19,380 per annum pro rata. Fixed term until 31 March 2021 (funding currently being sought for longer term)     30 hours per week.

Based in either Beeston or Eastwood –  negotiable as currently the majority of this work is being completed by telephone and video calls.

Citizens Advice Broxtowe has received funding to test a new way of working that supports some of our most vulnerable clients who often need help and advice when they reach a crisis point. We are testing a programme that includes proactive interventions in a partnership between Citizens Advice Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire Mind and other local partners.

If you wish to be considered for this innovative exciting opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills-

  • Ideally you will have experience of community advice work.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, debt and housing.
  • A flexible attitude to work.
  • Understanding and commitment of the aims, policies and principles of Citizens Advice.
  • Ability to work to set quality standards. 
  • Track record of successfully working with partners to progress the project and client outcomes.

PAID VACANCY – Energy Adviser

Working across our offices in Eastwood and Beeston, although most of the work will be telephone advice. Office base negotiable

Temporary Contract – October 2020 until 31 March 2021 

15 hours per week £19,000 per annum pro rata 

We have short term funding from Citizens Advice to run an Energy Best Deal Extra Project. You will be advising clients on how to Switch and Save, maximising income and advising on how to stay ‘Well and Warm’.

  • You will have a target to advise on Energy issues including Switch and Save. This is a paid for by results funding pot so the ability to meet targets is key.
  • You will need to feel comfortable conducting face to face interviews and carrying out telephone advice. 
  • You will need to be a team player who can work within our existing adviser teams and our wider partners, Broxtowe Council and Nottingham Energy Partnership.
  • You will need to be able to record client data and keep accurate records of client statistics, case studies and outcomes.
  • Ideally a trained adviser with previous Citizens Advice experience.
