Annual General Meeting
Our AGM is due to be held virtually on 6th October. Details of how to attend and documents, including our Annual Report can also be downloaded from the link below. For those who are not able to attend we shall provide a full report later next week.
We continue to support the local community throughout the pandemic. Last month we helped 540 individuals and families. The staggering rise in requests for information on welfare benefits continues to dominate our workload but there is also no sign of a levelling off of requests for help with housing and employment problems. To add to this we are still concerned about pent up demand for help with debts. Whilst request for money advice remains low it doubled during September as a percentage of our workload.
Citizens Advice Broxtowe continue to work on shared projects with our neighbouring Citizens Advice offices to maximise the support we can offer people.

The Citizens Advice Gambling Support project has launched a new podcast entitled ‘Beyond the Bet’. The idea is to continue to support those with a gambling problems by remote means. The podcast can be accessed from the link. There is also a Youtube channel that provides a snapshot of what the Podcast is all about:

Citizens Advice offers advice to students on accommodation rights
With many students facing a situation of lock down and even more being being taught mainly or entirely online it’s not surprising that some will consider moving back home to study. Citizens Advice has issued the following advice to students who may want to leave their accommodation before the end of the rental agreement.
