Our most recent research shows that identity theft is the most common type of fraud reported to Citizens Advice services in Nottinghamshire. During #NCW20 (National Consumer Week 2020) we want to highlight this problem and call on individuals and businesses to take action to help prevent identity fraud.
Our client’s experience
A recent survey by Citizens Advice discovered that 39% of people in the East Midlands have been targeted by scammers since the coronavirus outbreak and 58% were worried about scams during the same period. Citizens Advice have produced a simple tool to check if something might be a scam and to report a scam. Help for victims is also available locally from our partners at Nottinghamshire Victim Care.
