Our Chief Executive, Sally Bestwick was pleased to deliver a talk to the Rotary Club of Wollaton Park on the evening of 20th February 2020. We were grateful for the invitation and the interest shown by the Club.
Sally outlined the work of Citizens Advice Broxtowe, the problems our clients face and the challenges of of running a complex charity that is regulated by the Citizens Advice membership scheme, company and charity law. Last year the service helped over 7,000 Broxtowe residents with almost 16,000 problems. Many of our clients are some of the most vulnerable members of the community but we are here for everyone who needs help and advice.
Citizens Advice Broxtowe are an innovative charity and always seeking to find better ways of supporting our clients. We involve beneficiaries in the design of the services.
One of the messages we always like to communicate is that your local Citizens Advice is an independent charity responsible for raising its own funds from a diverse range of funders.
Sally delivered a thought provoking talk that generated much debate. We were grateful to the Club for providing the opportunity to explain our work and even more grateful for the presentation of a cheque for £50 on the night by Angie Perkins.
