This Eastwood Mental Wellbeing Hub goes from strength to strength. This weekend, participants, staff and volunteers all contributed to a successful stall at the Eastwood Volunteer Bureau Christmas Fair. As well as attending on the day, participants who have been attending the regular craft sessions made Christmas gifts and cakes to sell, all the proceeds going to materials for future workshops.
The project, that is run in patnership with Citizens Advice Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire Mind and Eastwood Volunteer Bureau came about thanks to the support of Broxtowe Borough Council who wanted the charities to work together to improve the wellbeing of people in the North of the borough. There are now 48 regular attendees who participate in ativties such as crafts, social events and workshops aimed at improving their skills and resiliance.
Once on the project there is a dedicated advice worker from Citizens Advice who can help with practical problems and make sure people receive help with their problems at an early stage before things become too serious and stressful.
For more information pop into the Citizens Advice office in Eastwood or call into the Eastwod Volunteer Bureau and ask for information on the Wellbeing Hub.
